When Should You Change Your Car’s Filters?

  • OIL FILTER

It should be replaced every time the vehicle’s oil is changed. The usual change is every 10,000 or 15,000 kilometers. If you don’t meet this mileage limit, it’s recommended not to wait a year to change it.
  • AIR FILTER

How can you tell when it’s time to change it? When you remove the air filter, it may look blackened, or you may even notice an increase in fuel consumption. That’s why it’s recommended to change it between 15,000 and 30,000 kilometers.
  • FUEL FILTER

You can start to detect it by changes in the engine’s normal power. Also, when you see more smoke coming from the exhaust, or smoke that’s blacker than normal. The change varies depending on the fuel type:

    –>Gasoline: between 40,000 and 80,000 kilometers.
    –>Diesel: between 30,000 and 60,000 kilometers.
  • CABIN FILTER

You can tell when it’s time to change it by experiencing less ventilation power. It can also be due to unpleasant odors inside the car.

–>It is recommended every 15,000 kilometers or at least once a year.

Regular filter changes will help extend the lifespan of your vehicle’s engine and increase its resale value in the future.
